Frequently Asked Questions

- Is it better to repair or replace my appliance?

At Allkind, our technician will come to your home to assess your appliance and make a suggestion based on your best interest. There are many factors that affect the lifespan of an appliance such as: hours used, brand-name, series and the factory location. We will gladly assist you in determining which decision is best for you and your appliance.

- Does it matter what type of dishwasher detergent I use?

Yes. Since most dishwashers are high efficiency and use less water, and due to the fact that detergents are more environmentally friendly, we recommend the use of a high quality, tablet style, detergent.

- How often do I need to change the water filter in my fridge?

Typically, most manufacturers recommend changing the filter every 6 months. If your fridge has a water indicator that keeps track of your water and ice usage, you may need to change it sooner if the indicator goes off before the recommended time. Regardless of whether the indicator goes off, the water filter should be changed at 6 months. It is always best to check your owner’s manual to confirm the recommended intervals for your specific make and model.

- My front load washing machine smells like mold. Is this something you can get rid of?

You can buy a washing machine cleaner which will remove most odours. If the problem persists, we can disassemble the pump and hose, and give it a thorough cleaning which may help. Depending on the severity of the problem there may be other diagnostic procedures we can perform in order to find the source of the odour issue.
